How Much Does It Cost?
The IAM's Skill for Life package costs £99. Young drivers under 26, however, get a discount of £20,
bringing the price down to £79. Additionally, for a limited period only, this group will refund
the £79 to all young drivers when they pass the test. So that has got to make it a bargain!
Will It Save Me Money?
In a word, yes. Some insurance companies give a discount to drivers who have passed the Advanced Test.
You are also more likely to build up a no-claims bonus using the advanced driving techniques we show you.
Your car will return better mpg when you use a smoother driving technique and your brakes and tyres will last longer.
How Do I Join?
New Associate Members are always welcome. Make your way to the car park near Aldi on a Sunday morning
and look for the IAM caravan. Come in and introduce yourself to one of the Associate Coordinators there.
We can explain in detail how the Skill for Life scheme works. You don't have to commit yourself there and then
- you can just have a trial run to see what it's all about and see if it's for you.
When you decide to sign up, you'll need your driving licence, your certificate of insurance
and your car's MOT certificate (if applicable). We can take payment by cheque, credit/debit card or in cash.
